Kick-Off Party!!!
August 29th at 4:00 p.m.
Our Middle School Worship Arts Ministry (IGNITE) is gearing up for another exciting year of music, friendship, service, and fun! If you are in Middle School and like to sing, act, or do choreography this is the place for you!
Our Kick-Off will be on Sunday, August 29th at 4:00pm. Meet at IBC just outside of the Student Building. You will enjoy a cookout, Blasdel Ball, ultimate frisbee, and other games. You may get wet due to the nature of some games so bring a change of clothes! You will also, of course, get to know better some of our leaders and directors and learn about what’s in store for this upcoming year, and hang out with a bunch of your new best friends! CREDIT SYSTEM
As stated in your handbooks, you must have a specific amount of credits accumulated to be able to participate in certain events (i.e. mission trips, musicals, select concerts, etc.). As I've been reminding you in rehearsal, you will need to have accumulated 19 credits (that means that you've been in at least 75% of our rehearsals and concerts) by the end of the day on December 19 to be able to perform at our Christmas Concert at Idlewild on December 20 and also go to the party afterwards. If your name was highlighted in the sheets we posted on the wall last Sunday at rehearsal, you are behind in your credits and will not be able to hit the mark UNLESS YOU DO EXTRA CREDIT. It is our desire that everyone is at that concert and so, per your handbook, we do provide ways that you can MAKE UP CREDITS. You can either:
A) Schedule a 1 hour vocal lesson in my office when we will basically rehearse our Christmas music one on one.
B) or, IF NEEDED, help Ms. Angie for 1 hour in the Music Office.
HOMELESS MINISTRY
Most Fridays throughout the year, Leo goes to Salvation Army's Trinity Cafe in downtown Tampa to serve lunch to a couple of hundred homeless men and women and minister to them. One of the lines that we notice most from our students during the summer on Facebook is: "I'M BORED!". Well...starting in June, Leo will have a church van ready on FRIDAYS at 10:30am to bring whoever wants to come, to come serve with him at Trinity Cafe. This will be a lot of fun and certainly a productive use of your time during the summer doing things will potential eternal consequences. It will be changing to you as it has been to Leo this last year. Must RSVP...if interested, just send Leo an email at lvillanueva@idlewild.org.
